HMD5 (fire hardening steel)
HMD5 is a mold material that is easy to quench with burners, has a uniformly high hardness, and has excellent machinability. It also has the characteristics of high toughness and easy welding repair.
HMD5 features:
A wide range of quenching temperatures.
Even the use of burner heating is not easy to appear uneven hardness, so that the frame hardware is stable.
- Quenching cooling can be retained for air cooling.
High hardenability, after heating with a burner, direct air cooling can be fully quenched.
- Small quenching distortion.
For automotive molds, the frame hardware surface can be used without modification.
- Excellent toughness.
It has excellent toughness and almost no risk of chipping or cracking during use.
- Good wear resistance.
HMD5 has the same wear resistance as SKS3.
- Good machinability.
HMD5 has the same processability as SK120.
· Easy to repair.
Even if you build after the framework hardware, you don't have to worry about cracking.

Trimming mold
Punching mold
Bending die
Drawing mold
Equal cold forming die.
Frame hardening heating temperature: 940-1100℃
Heat treatment conditions for quenching
Quenching: 850℃ ~ 900℃ oil cooling
Tempering: 150℃ ~ 200℃
